We’re excited to offer accelerated summer classes starting Monday, June 16th! Students can attend up to four times per week, with flexible options: choose between morning sessions (9:00–11:00 AM) or evening sessions (6:00–8:00 PM) from Monday to Thursday. Both sessions will cover the same material, giving you the freedom to pick what works best for your schedule. Finish the 30-hour course faster and make the most of your summer!

Our Driving Programs

Nationwide Driving School

Classroom Instruction

Our course consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction. Classes run Mon-Thurs and the student can start any day.

Road Instruction

Our course consists of 8 hours of road instruction. Included in our pricing is home, school, or work pick-up and drop-off.

Student Testing

Students may test at the DMV or at our school, with our car (additional fee applies). The choice is up to each student.

Nationwide Driving School

Individual Tutoring

We offer 2-hour private sessions to those who can benefit from one on one tutoring instruction. We want each student to succeed!

No permit is required to start the 30 hr. classroom course!

All a student has to be, is 16 years of age in order to start. It is much more advantageous to begin the 30 hour course as soon as possible once the student turns 16!

Instruction

Classroom instruction is held Monday through Thursday 6-8 during the school year. A monthly calendar is posted on our website showing the dates and class numbers to be taught. Students may attend any class as needed. This may change with the addition of new class times.

Important

The course consists of 15 2-hour classes which can be started in any order. Because the class is now in-person, students should plan ahead and try to complete the classes no more than 60 days from the start date. ALL students MUST BE finished with the classroom portion of the course within 90 days. This rule is important so we can let students start when they want and complete in a timely manner. Please check your sports or extra curricular activities schedules to make sure you are able to complete the required classes.

Thousands of students have trusted us to provide the essential training needed for the safe operation of a vehicle. We continue to offer in-person classroom instruction, and our convenient location in the center of West Hartford makes us easily accessible to everyone.
We provide home pickup as well as pickup from all public and private high schools in West Hartford. Our flexible course options are designed to fit every student’s needs—choose the full 38-hour program, in-car instruction only, or classroom instruction only. There are no rigid packages; students can select what works best for them.
For added convenience, we also offer the road test at our facility, allowing students to skip the trip to the DMV.

Road Instruction

Our standard driver’s education course includes 8 hours of behind-the-wheel driving with our top-notch instructors. For the last 50 years, Nationwide has always picked up students up at home, school, or work for no additional charge.

Classroom Instruction

Nationwide offers the standard 38-hour driver’s education course. This course is the accepted curriculum given by driving schools to satisfy the state’s statutes and includes 30 hours of classroom instruction.

Relaxed Environment

Nationwide Driving School is located at 9 Dale Street in West Hartford Center. We are in a lovely renovated older home that provides a comfortable, relaxed setting for our classroom instruction and office.
